First if all, there are 3 feet in a yard. So, for example, if you had 4 yards, that would equal 12 feet. You get this by multiplying the number of yards (in your case,
40
) by 3 (because there are
3
feet in a yard). 40 × 3= 120.

There is 3 ft in a yard, so you can do 3 x 40 which is equal to 120
