Let x be the combined amount of raising and oatmeal cookies sold:

Since, the amount of raisin cookies sold= 72

And the ratio of raisin cookies to oatmeal cookies is 9:1

Then,

\begin{gathered} (9)/(1+9)\cdot x=72 \\ (9)/(10)\cdot x=72 \\ x=(72\cdot10)/(9) \\ x=(720)/(9)=80 \end{gathered}

The combined amount of raising and oatmeal cookies sold were 80
