First Intifada
Intifada is the name of the popular uprising of the Palestinian refugees against the Israeli government. Intifada is an Arabic word and it means shivering, tremor or shuddering. This is a term that has its origin from the Arabic word nafada. Nafada means getting rid of something. The first Intifada began in the year 1987 and the violence continued till 1991. The second Intifada began in the year 2000 and ended in 2005.
