Can some one help with at least one of these problems

for letter a first u would combine like terms which is 7x and 8x you would get 1x    your problem would then look like 1x-5=9 so then you add 5 on both sides so add 5 to 5 and 5 to 9 you would get 14 soo it would look like 1x=14 soooooooo x=14
