-13x+4x=-39+18x
-9x=18x-39
-27x=-39
x=39/27
Check answer:
-9(39/27)=
-39+18(39/27)
-13=-13
Hope this helps.

X= 1.4
First, you combine like terms
-13x + 4x = -9x
Then you subtract 18x from each side so you can get -39 by itself
-9x -18x = -27x
Next you divide -27x by -27 and -39 by -27
-27/-27 = 1x
-39/-27 = 1.4
So X= 1.4
