Inchon,
in this city, the Battle of Inchon took place. It was an amphibious invasion in the Korean War by MacArthur that set an amphibious invasion and battle of the Korean War that resulted in a decisive victory and strategic reversal in favor of the United Nations coalition.
Douglas MacArthur strike and success in the battle caused a collapse of the North Korean divisions; within a month of the landing at Inchon, the Americans went to take thousands of prisoners and turned the tide of battle in favor of South Korea. The eventual influence from the UN corps and American armies set the line on the 38th parrallel.
