Amphibians are very sensitive to pollutants in water, often being seen as indicator of water quality. They will have no defenses against water contaminants.

Amphibians are the type of animals that survive in both terrestrial and aquatic habitat. In the past decades, the populations of the amphibians such as frogs, salamander, newts and others is declining due to the increase environmental pollution. The surface run off of insecticides, pesticides, oil spill, waste disposal practices contaminants are added up in the water body they contaminate the quality of the water making it unsuitable for survival of the amphibians.
