Well, you got to try different numers to get n. So, just play around wit different numbers and see which one fits correctly
6 times what -12 is equal to 3 + that number?!
It has to be the same number

You just need to use algebra to isolate/find n
6n-12=n+3
+12 +12
6n=n+15
-n -n
5n=15
--- ---
5 5
n=3
Check:
6(3)-12=3+3
18-12=6
6=6
