In the case of an Isosceles triangle, the length of its two legs is the same. Therefore,


\begin{gathered} 51=3x-4+x+x=3x-4+2x=5x-4 \\ \Rightarrow x=(55)/(5)=11 \\ \Rightarrow x=11 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the length of each leg is 11 in, and the length of the base is 3*11-4=29 in
