Odysseus is best known to be an ingenious character, but, to such a degree that, unavoidably, he can be perceived as arrogant as well. He is arrogant, it should be noted, not only towards his crew, who are blamed reiteratively for many of the mishaps along the Odyssey, even calling them “mutinous fools”, but Odysseus shows signs of arrogance even towards the gods, like in the famous passage when they win the battle of Troy and claims he doesn´t need the assistance of the gods. Though very clever, Odysseus is, nonetheless, an arrogant character.
