Which property is used in the problem below? 2(x+4)=2x+6

The property that makes 2(x+4) becomes 2x+8 is the distributive property, i.e. distribute "2" to all terms between the brackets.

so 2 would be multiplied by x PLUS 2 multiplied by 4, which gives us 2x + 8, not 6

The DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY. And also, it's not true. The equation is not true. It would be 2x + 8.
