given the following:

numbers of ice cream bought = 6

price per ice cream = $1.69

Tax paid = 3% = 3/100 = 0.03

let the cost of the total ice cream = x

so,

1 ice cream = $1.69

6 ice cream = $x

lets cross multiply

x X 1 = 1.69 X 6

x = $10.14

so, Mia will pay $10.14 for 6 ice cream.

futhermore, we were told tha she paid tax of 3%

so we have to calculate for the tax of 3% and add it to the cost of the 6 ice cream

= 3/100 X 10.14

= 0.03 X 10.14

= 0.3042

Therefore, the total cost of her treat will be:

= 10.14 + 0.304

= $10.4442

= $10.44 to the nearest cent.
