ANSWERS BELOW HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!Factor the trinomial by grouping.

12x^2 – x – 1
(3x+1)(4x-1)
(3x-1)(4x+1)
(3x-1)(4x-1)
(3x+1)(4x+1)

The answer is option 2. We are looking for factors of 12 that differ by 1. The factors are 3 and 4 of course. The sign of the x term tells us that we need the minus sign in front of the larger factor so that we have -4x+3x to make the middle term. The second answer option does this by multiplying -1 by 4x.
