Steven: 5/6 lb of jelly beans and 1/3 lb of gummy bears

2) We can find out the answer by writing out the following expression:


(5)/(6)-(1)/(3)=

Since we have different denominators let's find the LCM:

And proceed with the subtraction above:


(6\colon6*5-6\colon3*1)/(6)=(5-2)/(6)=(3)/(6)=(1)/(2)
