D, because the answer would be 0.75p and all the rest make 0.75p and D does not

Answer: D. 0.25p

Explanation:

The original price of an item = p dollars

After 25% discount the price of that item =
p-25\%\ of\ p

Let's solve the above expression

p-25\%\ of\ p\\=p-(25)/(100)*p

Taking p as common outside of the expression, we get

p(1-(25)/(100))\\=p(1-0.25)\\=p(0.75)

The only expression which is not equivalent to the price of the item with the discount = 0.25 p
