We have to calculate the area of the composite figure.

To do that, we have to list all the parts that compose the figure and add the area of this parts.

The parts that compose this figure are:

- A rectangle with dimensions x and h.

- Two triangles with height h and base y.

Then, we can write the area A of the composite figure as:

A=A_r+2\cdot A_t

where Ar is the area of the rectangle and At the area of one triangle.

We can then calculate A as:

\begin{gathered} A=A_r+2\cdot A_t \\ A=x\cdot h+2((h\cdot y)/(2)) \\ A=x\cdot h+h\cdot y \\ A=9\cdot11+11\cdot2 \\ A=99+22 \\ A=121 \end{gathered}

Answer: the area of the composite figure is 121 square units.
