Step 1) Find the distance from A to B. Since B is directly under A, we can count out the spaces between the points. The distance is 5. Alternatively you can subtract the y coordinates: 3-(-2) = 3+2 = 5

Step 2) Find the distance from A' to B'. This distance is 10. Again you can count out the spaces or subtract y coordinates: 6-(-4) = 6+4 = 10

Step 3) Divide the result from step 2 over the result of step 1. Dividing gives: 10/5 = 2. So the distance has doubled. The scale factor is 2
