The table lists recommended amounts of food to order for 19 party guests. Amanda and Syndey are hosting a graduation party for 40 guests. They know there will also be guests stopping by who may have come from other parties. For ordering purposes, they will count each of these "drop-in" guests as half a guest. How much of each food item should Amanda and Syndey order for a graduation party with 15 drop-in guests?

first to know how many guests they will have we need to sum the 40 guests with the 15 drop-in guests, and these ones count as half a guest so:

40+15/2= 47.5 guests

and now to solve how much of each food will they need you to need to divide the amount of each item by 19 (because is for 19 guests) and then multiply by the total of guests they will have: 47.5 so:

-Fried chicken

24 pieces/19 guests= 1.26 pieces per guest

1.26* 47.5= 60

So they will need 60 pieces of fried chicken

-Deli meats

\begin{gathered} \frac{3\text{ }(2)/(3)}{19}=(11)/(57)pounds\text{ per guest} \\ (11)/(57)\cdot47.5=\text{ 55/6} \end{gathered}

so they will need 55/6 pounds of deli meats

-Lasagna

\begin{gathered} (10(1)/(4))/(19)=(41)/(76) \\ (41)/(76)\cdot47.5=(205)/(8)\text{ pounds} \end{gathered}

so they will need 205/8 pounds of lasagna
