Part A: Completing the number line.

Divide the number of minutes by the number of lap to get the rate.


4\text{ min}/2\text{ lap}=2\text{ min per lap}

Using the information, we therefore have the number line.

Part B: How many laps in 10 minutes.

Based on the number line that in the previous part, in 10 mins, Ryan would have ran a total of 5 laps.

Part C: How many minutes in 7 laps.

If we continue the line past 6, then on the 7th lap, Ryan would have ran for 14 mins.
