So AC =24, and DC=12

1) Considering that the line segments are:

Since AD=12 and AC= AD+AC and AD and AC are congruent.

We can call D as the Midpoint.

So

AD=12, DC=12

AC= 12+12

2) Plugging into AC equation:

24=4y-36

24+36=4y-36+36

60=4y

y=15

So AC =24, and DC=12
