Making a certain shade of paint requires mixing 3 parts silver with 4 parts green. Meg uses this data to start this table of equivalent ratios. Which ratios are equivalent to 3 parts silver paint to 4 parts green paint? Check all that apply. 04:5 O 6:8 Silver Paint (Parts) Green Paint (Parts) 5:6 O 9:12 3 4 6.4 O

The ratio of paint you require for the mixing is 3 parts silver and 4 parts green, 3:4

You can see wich of the given ratios follow it using cross multiplication. Using the given parts of silver of each ratio you'll calculate the corresponding parts of green to see if they are equal to the ratios or not.

First ratio:

6:8

3 parts of silver ____ 4 parts of green

6 parts of silver_____x

x=\text{ }(6\cdot4)/(3)=\text{ 8}

This ratio is equivalent to 3:4

Second ratio:

4:5

3 parts of silver ____ 4 parts of green

4 parts of silver_____x

x=(4\cdot4)/(3)=\text{ 5.33}

This ratio is not equivalent to 3:4

Third ratio:

5:6

3 parts of silver ____ 4 parts of green

5 parts of silver_____x

x=(5\cdot4)/(3)=\text{ 6.67}

This ratio is not equivalent to 3:4

Fourth ratio:

9:12

3 parts of silver ____ 4 parts of green

9 parts of silver_____x

x=(9\cdot4)/(3)=\text{ 12}

This ratio is equivalent to 3:4

So...

The ration 6:8 and 9:12 are equivalent to 3:4

As you probably noticed, both ratios are multiples of 3 and 4 respectively.
