To develop the safety consciousness in the workplace, then it will have to be made a priority in every department of the company to actively teach safety consciousness in the workplace ie explain the hazards and the consequences of ignoring them but not just with a negative approach as I noticed at the Goldstrike Mine in Nevada where all the safety ads were very negative with no credit given to the workers for safe practices. Rewards should be given to the workers for safe practices to reinforce the positive also or perhaps lunches given to a whole department who has achieved a milestone like a month or a year without a lost time accident.
