This paragraph describes what is known as the Triangular Trade. In this system, Europe, the Americas and Africa traded. The "Middle Passage," however, was the most horrifying part of this trade, as this was the section in which captured African people were sent from Africa to America to work as slaves, mainly in plantations in the Caribbean and the South of the United States.
