In a gram stain, we need to fixate our sample with heat or alcohol, then we proceed to stain with violet and fixate the color with Lugol, then we wash with acetone and we can add safranin to distinguish those gram-negative in pink color. Therefore taking this into consideration we can say that the order is as follows.
D. Cover the smear with crystal violet
F.First water wash
C.Cover the stain with Gram's iodine
E.Second water wash
I. Decolorize with ethanol
B.Third water wash
H.Cover with safranin
A. Fourth water wash
G. Blot dry with bibulous paper
