8) We have two numbers, A and B, in the number line and we have to find where are located the results of some operations with A and B.

We don't know the values of A and B but we know that: A and B are positives numbers (they are located to the rigth of 0) and B is greater than A (B is to the right of A).

Then, we have to locate the following results:

8. B+A

We can draw them as:

In this case, we add the length of A from the position of B to the right to find B+A.

10. A-B

As B is greater than A we know that the result will be to the left of 0.

We also can write this expression as an addition like:


A-B=A+(-B)

Now we can add the segments A and (-B).
