1) (p - q) (x) = p(x) - q(x)

2) p(x) = x^2 - 1

3) q(x) = 5(x - 1)

4) p(x) - q(x) = (x^2 - 1 - 5(x -1)

Answer: (x^2 - 1) - 5(x - 1).
