the last sign in ur problem...the one before the 16..it is a +.....this means that both ur factors will have the same sign......the first sign...the one before the 10y is a -....this means that both ur factors will have a negative sign

now, we have to find 2 numbers, then when added = -10 and when multiplied = 16........-8 + (-2) = -10......-8 * -2 = 16....so ur numbers are -8 and -2
