Solution

Let us first graph the function

\begin{gathered} y=2x+5 \\ x=0 \\ y=2(0)+5 \\ y=5 \\ (0,5) \end{gathered}

The origin is the point (0,0)

The graph does not go through the origin. This is because on substituting x=0 into the function , we didn't obtain a value of y to be zero.

When we plug in x=0 into the linear function y=2x+5 , and we obatin y=0 , then we can conclude that graph of the line goes through the origin

Hence our final answer is the graph does not go through the origin .
