False, if the width of the field was 160 then the area would be 19,000 ft. The width would have to be 460 to equal 57,600 ft

Answer: True, the width of the field is 160 feet

Explanation:

To find the width of the rectangular poll

Length of the poll is given as 120 yards

Since the area is given in ft², we need to convert the length from yard to feet

To calculate this;

1 yard = 3 feet

120 yards = x

cross multiply

x = 120 × 3 = 360 feet

Therefore; the length of the field = 120 yards = 360 feet

We can now go ahead and find the width

From the information given in the question;

Area of the rectangular foot ball field is 57, 600 ft² and the length of the rectangular football field is 360 feet

Let w = width of the rectangular football field

Area = Length × Width

57,600 = 360 × w

To get the value of w, we divide both-side of the equation by 360

(57600)/(360) =
(360w)/(360)

160 = w

w = 160 feet

Therefore; the width of the rectangular football field is 160 feet
