We know the value absolute of x is possible x if x positive or -x if x negative.
So we have two cases:
* 5x+4=14 or 5x=14-4, and 5x=10, x=10:5 and we obtain x=2
* 5x+4=-14 or 5x=-14-4, and 5x=-18, so we have x= -18:5
So we choose c, 2, -18/5
