We want to find which x value, when we substract 7 to it, is less than 3. In order to find it out, we just have to replace x with each option:
A. 9 → x - 7 → 9 - 7 = 2
B. 10 → x - 7 → 10 - 7 = 3
C. 11 → x - 7 → 11 - 7 = 4
D. 12 → x - 7 → 12 - 7 = 5
Then, the only option that is is less than 3 is 2
2 < 3
