Well, with the equation 3x+8=53 we can solve for x.
X=15
Check:
3(15)+8
3(15)= 45
45+8=53

3x + 8 = 53

3x + 8 (-8) = 53 (-8)

3x = 45

3x/3 = 45/3

x = 15
