The Magna Carta reduced the power of the king because it gave rights to nobles and barons. They were guaranteed trial by jury and taxation was regulated to avoid the king exploiting them and taking more than what is due. This meant that the King could no longer do as he wished.

The Magna Carta restricted the English kings power, and gave more power to the Lords & Knights
