The rule for the number of fish in a home aquarium is 1 gallon of water for each inch of fish length. Marta’s aquarium holds 13 gallons and Hank’s aquarium holds 17 gallons. Knowing that information, Marta purchased 3 guppies and 2 platies and Hank bought 3 guppies and 4 platies, how long is a guppy and how long is a platy?

Each guppie would be 3 inches and each platie would be 2 inches.
Martha: 3x3= 9 2x2= 4 9+4= 13
Hank: 3x3= 9 4x2= 8 9+8=17
