you are standing on a cliff that is 400 feet tall. You throw your Geometry book off the cliff and it lands 300 feet from the base of the cliff. What is the angle of depression that you are looking down at your book (round to the nearest tenth)

From the question,

Let H be the height of the Cliff

Let Y be the distance of the geometry book from the base of the cliff.

\begin{gathered} \text{The Height of the Cliff, H=400} \\ \text{The distance at the base, Y = 300} \\ \emptyset\text{ = The angle of depression} \end{gathered}

Note that the angle of depression is alternate to the angle of elevation'
