Correct answer choice is :

A) Kind to them

Step-by-step explanation:

While most trust the second part of the Persian wars with the birth of the Athenian resurrection, one could claim that Marathon was the impetus for, and much of the logic behind, the Athenians’ faith that they were on par with the Spartans which permitted them to thrive. Marathon be a failure and Athens destroyed, the Western democracy, culture, art and philosophy that emerged from this period in history might have been lost, and the Western world today could be very different.

Persians were kind to the people they conquered. They were the first to establish the charter for human rights; they also allowed the people they conquered to retain their religion, language, and even their costumes and ways of life. All of this allowed the Persians to create an peaceful empire in which the citizens respected and even embraced their conquerors.
