We have

The vertical angles have equal measure, therefore:

\begin{gathered} \angle A=\angle B \\ 2x-10=x+8 \end{gathered}

then solve for x

\begin{gathered} 2x-10+10=x+8+10 \\ 2x=x+18 \\ 2x-x=x+18-x \\ x=18 \end{gathered}

So, angle A is:

\angle A=2x-10=2(18)-10=36-10=26
