You have the following identitiy:

2.5 liters = 0.66 gallon

In order to get an unit rate you divide the amount of given liters by the amount of equivalent gallons, jus as follow:


\begin{gathered} (2.5liters)/(0.66)=3.7878(liters)/(gallon) \\ \end{gathered}

Hence, a convenient unit rate is:

1 liter = 0.264 gallon

1 liter = 0.26 gallon
