Solution:

Given:

Two\text{ points }(1,8)\text{ and }(-3,3)

The formula to get the distance between two points is;

d=√((x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2)

where;

\begin{gathered} x_1=1 \\ x_2=-3 \\ y_1=8 \\ y_2=3 \end{gathered}

Substituting these values into the formula,

\begin{gathered} d=√((x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2) \\ d=√((-3-1)^2+(3-8)^2) \\ d=√((-4)^2+(-5)^2) \\ d=√(16+25) \\ d=√(41) \end{gathered}

Therefore, the distance between the points is;

d=√(41)
