Let's define the equation from the question

Lee family is going to be x

Price family is going to be y

The Lee family's sprinkler was used for 35 hours and The Price family's sprinkler was

used for 15 hours, but combined is 1650L of water

so the equation is

35x+15y=1650

Now the sum of x and y gives 70 L per hour

x+y=70

Solving

\begin{gathered} x=70-y \\ 2450-35y+15y=1650 \\ -20y=-800 \\ y=40 \end{gathered}

Now for x

\begin{gathered} x=70-40 \\ x=30 \end{gathered}

Answer: x=30 and y=40
