Eleanor Roosevelt had many notable activities after the war ended and her husband died in 1945. But the most significant activity was her involvement in the creation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the document which is still in use today. In 1948 she not only partook the writing of the draft, but also publicly advocated its adoption, claiming that it was the "international Magna Carta".
