The coffee shop is having a special where 2 pounds of coffee costs $4. Assume that the total cost in dollars "y" varies directly with the number of pounds of coffee "x". This can be represented by y=2x. How much will 2.5 pounds of coffee costs?

the answer is $5 because
y= $
x= pounds of coffee
and the first part was 2 lbs/ $4 making it a pound/ $2
so replace the x with 2.5
leaving it 5= 2 X 2.5
