Take into account that the probability for a specific category is given by quotient between the number of elements in the category, over the total number of element in the total sample.

In this case, there are 78 students in Acers and the total number of students is 400. Then, the probability of selecting one student from Acers is:


P=(78)/(400)

By simplifying the previous fraction you get:


P=(78)/(400)=(39)/(200)

Now, consider that after the selection of the first student, the probability of selecting a second one will not change. Then, the answer is 39/200
