In this problem the hint word is the father is 5 times older and the father is 24 years older you would divide 24 by 5 and get 4.8 you will keep the 4 and then multiply 24x5 and get 120 and then you would get 120 divided by 5 to get 24 so your answer is 4.24 or D)

if the father and son are 24 years apart then the father was 24 when the son was 0 when the son was 3 the father was 27 three years later the son turned 6 and the father 30 (6 multiplied by 5 is 30) add 3 to 6 and youget a son that is 9 and a fiather that is 33
