when simplying expressions we need to group all the terms that have the same literal part, which is the letters that go by the side of the number.

7c-4d+3c

in this expression the common term between 2 of them is c, we group them together

(7c+3c)-4d

we take the common factor out of the parentheses

c(7+3)-4d

solve the factor inside the parentheses

c(10)-4d

write the final expression

10c-4d
