What is the solution of the system of equations? y = –4x + 6 y = –5x – 4

(–10, 46)
(–1.11, 10.44)

y= -4x + 6 (-10, 46), (-1.11, 10.44),

y= -5x -4. (-10, 46)

whereas (-10, 46) is the solution for both equations, it is the correct choice

Answer: (-10, 46)

Explanation:

The given solution of the system of equations :-

y=-4x + 6-----(1)\\\\ y = -5x -4-------(2)

Subtract (2) from (2), we get

0=-5x-(-4x)-4-(6)\\\\\Rightarrow\ 0=-5x+4x-4-6\\\\\Rightarrow\ 0=-x-10\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=-10

Put value of x in (1) , we get

y=-4(-10) + 6=40+6=46

Hence, the solution of the system of equations = (-10, 46)
