We have the following:

In this case the first thing is to convert the mixed numbers into fractional numbers. Then we must subtract what Jose jumped with the difference between Lila and him.

Just like that:

\begin{gathered} 8(1)/(3)=(25)/(3) \\ 2(2)/(3)=(8)/(3) \\ (25)/(3)-(8)/(3)=(17)/(3) \\ (17)/(3)=5(2)/(3) \end{gathered}

Therefore Lila's jump was 5 2/3 feet
