Given the shown diagram

(a) How many outcomes are there?

Since we have 3 presidents and 4 vicepresident the total outcomesis given by

T=4*3=12

we have a total of 12 outcomes

(b) How many outcomes have both Linda and Bob being chosen?

Linda and Bob share just 1 outcome

then

1 outcome Linda and Bob both being chosen

(c) How many outcomes have Maria or Ann being chosen?

Maria has 4 outcomes

Ann has 4 outcomes

then

T=4+4
T=8

8 outcomes of maria OR Ann being chosen
