The right answer is Portugal and Spain

The Treaty of Tordesillas was signed on June 1494 between Spain and Portugal. Its objective was divide the lands of the New Continent for each country spheres of influence. The treaty was corrected by the Catholic Church, whose pope was Alexander VI before it was signed in order to put up the colonial aspirations in favor to Spain but Portugal rejected it and the new line of division was settled.
