7x − (2x − 5) = 12x − 3 − 3x
7x − 2x + 5 = 12x − 3 − 3x
5x + 5 = 9x - 3
9x - 5x = 5 + 3
4x = 8
x = 2

x=2 because
Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.7x−(2x−5)=12x−33x7x+−1(2x−5)=12x−33x(Distribute the Negative Sign)7x+−1(2x)+(−1)(−5)=12x−33x7x+2x+5=12x−33x7x+2x+5=12x+−3+3x(7x+2x)+(5)=(12x+3x)+(−3)(Combine Like Terms)5x+5=9x+−35x+5=9x−3Step 2: Subtract 9x from both sides.5x+59x=9x−39x4x+5=−3Step 3: Subtract 5 from both sides.4x+5−5=−3−54x=−8Step 4: Divide both sides by -4.4x /−4 = −8/−4 x=2
